The Real ProvenanceTM Program
What does Real Provenance do?
Real Provenance is designed to promote and enhance the domestic and global reputation of Wines, Ciders, Spirits, and Food. The program provides a means of a direct interface between the individual bottle and consumers, providing business intelligence.
How does Real Provenance work?
The program has a unit-level identifier and system that supports multiple functions linked directly to each bottle or package. The program utilizes a label with a QR Code containing a unique number and a URL that when scanned with a cell phone or industrial scanner links to the software system in the cloud.
How can a Real Provenance QR Code help your brand?
• Link each customer to the unique QR Code of each bottle.
• Interface directly with customers through their phone
• Quick access to product info, content, and offerings
• Tell your stories about your brand, products, and more.
• Customers can share through their social media links
• Easy email sign up to your mailing list
• Reports of customer interaction (where, when, frequency)
• Scaleable to other services and uses
SIMPLE, COST-EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION
How is the QR Code response set up?
Real Provenance sets up and administers the program. We work with you to build a custom response for each program. Images and copy are normally provided by the customer, but we can provide additional design services if needed.
How do my customers interface with the QR Code?
Today most smart phones have built in apps that scan the code using the camera. Older phones without the built-in app, can download any of the many free apps available online.
What is included in the Basic setup fee?
The fee includes setting up the software for each customer and programming the response when a QR Code is scanned. This may include generalized information about the winery, cidery, or distillery, specific information about the products, links to videos, company website, store, or expanded information.
Can the program help protect my wine from fraud?
In the past, premium wines were the target of counterfeiters. Now all price points are affected.
The Real Provenance system authenticates each bottle while promoting and enhancing the domestic and global reputation of the winery, brand, and wine.
QR Codes are commonly recognized worldwide as a standard to retrieve information. Combining our secure QR Code with additional anti-counterfeit features, Real Provenance is easily accessible via any smartphone using native or free scanning apps. Other proprietary authentication systems require unique scanning apps discouraging consumers from participating.
What is the difference between the stock label and a custom label?
We offer both a stock label designed with a Virginia wine theme, the QR Code, and an eye-catching hologram that provides anti-counterfeit protection. We also design and produce custom designed labels specific to each product and vision.
What is the Hologram for; do I need one?
Today, holograms are used globally to catch the consumer's eye while providing anti-counterfeit protection and increasing the perceived value of the brand. The hologram is standard on our stock labels but is optional on a custom label. Other optional anti-counterfeit technologies are available.
How do the labels come packaged for bottle application?
The labels are delivered on a roll for hand or automatic application.
Can the program be used in other ways?
Yes. The program can be tailored for corporate gatherings, weddings, and other special events, to register people, disseminate information, support prize distribution, and other marketing ideas.
Can the program be expanded to support other systems?
Yes. The program can be scaled to support track & trace, inventory control, linked to shipping systems and club plans. Advanced features include private or public blockchains and data export to associate products with additional and future systems.
Does adding a QR Code to your existing label require Certificate/Exception of Label/Bottle Approval (COLA)?
